Love That Feels Like Home
Seeing him open his birthday gifts was a moment I’ll always hold close to my heart. The happiness on his face, the way he appreciated every little effort I had put in, it meant everything to me. I didn’t do it for sake of doing, but I did with all my love and the way he cherished those moments made it more special. Knowing he loved the gifts was enough to fill my heart with joy.
Of course, curiosity found its way to his mom. She wanted to know what I had sent him, and he simply told her that I had gifted him some clothes. But what truly surprised her was when he showed her the picture of the tattoo I got. It wasn’t something she expected, maybe not something anyone would but for me, it was a quiet expression of a love so deep that words often fall short.
Because the way I love him, it doesn’t feel like a burden or a duty. It feels like freedom. It feels like joy. It feels like I could climb mountains, cross oceans, and still not reach the limits of what I would do for him.
Our love has never felt empty, never dull, never routine. Instead, it’s always been filled with excitement, a kind of weird craziness that keeps us alive in each other’s presence. We never had to constantly prove our love, because we both just know. There’s a quiet understanding between us, a shared intensity that doesn’t need validation as it simply exists, strong and unwavering.
And somewhere along this journey, I found more than just him. I found a home.
Spending time with his family became one of the most comforting parts of my life. Simple conversations, shared lunches, little moments that slowly turned into cherished memories. His mom, especially, held a warmth that I can’t fully describe. She would pack food for me, keep fruits aside, and care for me in ways that made me feel seen and valued. They never made me feel like an outsider, not even for a second.
What more could I ask for?
All I ever wanted was a family that would love me, accept me, and make me feel like I belong and I found that with them. In those moments, I truly felt like I had the whole world in my hands.Thanking God for all that I have.
And then, as time passed, my birthday was round the corner.
He kept asking me what I wanted. Again and again.
But I already had my answer.
“I have you,” I told him. “That’s my greatest gift.”
Still, he didn’t stop. In his usual playful way, he said, “If you don’t tell me what you want, I won’t talk to you.” I knew it was his way of making me open up. I was very sure that he could never go a day without talking to me… and honestly, neither could I.
I laughed and told him I will think about it and tell you.
And when I finally thought, my answer was simple.
“Carry me home… to your home, give me warmth. That’s all I want.Your love is enough to make me the happiest."
Because sometimes, the most precious things in life aren’t wrapped in boxes or tied with ribbons. They are found in a person, in their love, their presence, their existence in your life.
And for me, he will always be my greatest blessing. I thank God every day for making our paths cross. Life feels lighter, brighter, and more meaningful with him. He brings a kind of warmth that changes everything. The love we share, the spark between us… it’s something only we truly understand, its a quiet, passionate feeling that lives in our hearts.
