Feeling Finally Expressed
Sometimes, the hardest feelings to carry are the ones we never speak out loud. I used to believe silence protected the heart, that if something was meant to be, it would find its way without words. But deep down, there was always that quiet thought: I should have told him about my feelings…
Still, I trusted God's timing. I believed that when something is meant for you, it doesn’t arrive in a rush, it arrives gently, when you’re finally brave enough to receive it.
We stayed in touch, even across distance. Texts became part of our routine, small conversations stretching into something softer, warmer, more meaningful than I expected. And one day, I felt that nudge inside me, that said, Tell him now. Before its too late.
I didn’t know how to begin. My fingers hovered over the screen longer than they should have. Finally, I typed, “I want to tell you something.”
He replied, “Yes, go ahead.”
Little did he know, those simple words carried everything I have been holding back, the unspoken hope, the feelings I didn’t know how to name properly yet.
When I told him, he was surprised. And for a moment, I didn’t know what his silence meant. But then he said something I never expected:
“I felt it too… I just didn’t have the courage to tell you. I wasn’t sure if things would work.”
It felt strange and beautiful all at once realizing we were both standing on the same page, afraid to step forward and express our feelings.
He asked if he could call me. I was shy and nervous, but I said yes. And that call didn’t begin with love. It started with small talk, awkward pauses and soft laughter. It wasn’t love yet. But it was something real as we shared our feelings. A beginning that didn’t rush itself.
Sometimes, stories don’t begin with fireworks.
They begin with courage with one brave moment, and two people finally choosing not to leave their feelings unsaid✨
